    Job Description

    The Head of Oncology Patient Advocacy, U.S. Lead, will be responsible for driving the development and execution of the U.S. Oncology patient advocacy strategy. They will cultivate and maintain meaningful partnerships with patient advocacy organizations and lead collaborative initiatives with external stakeholders that aim to improve patient outcomes. They will oversee Takeda’s oncology-focused giving program and ensure that the patient perspective is meaningfully embedded in internal discussions, decisions, and priorities.

     

    As a member of the U.S. Oncology Leadership Team, the Head of Oncology Patient Advocacy will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders in addition to being a valued partner to the Global Patient Value & Access organization, and a close collaborator with Patient Advocacy and Policy colleagues across Takeda.

    Accountabilities

    + Lead the development and execution of the U.S. patient advocacy strategy in alignment with Takeda Oncology’s mission.

    + Contribute to shaping global patient advocacy principles and driving innovation in advocacy and engagement.

    + Build and sustain meaningful partnerships with patient advocacy organizations; lead strategic advocacy dialogue with internal and external stakeholders to align priorities and inform decision-making.

    + Ensure the patient perspective is meaningfully embedded in internal discussions, decisions, and priorities.

    + Design and implement patient-centered programs that aim to improve outcomes and access.

    + Oversee the Oncology charitable giving program, managing grants, sponsorships, and donations with transparency and focus.

    + Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders as a member of the U.S. Oncology Leadership Team; partner closely with the Global Patient Value & Access organization; and collaborate effectively with Patient Advocacy and Policy colleagues across Takeda.

    + Monitor and anticipate external trends, developments, and policy shifts within the advocacy landscape.

    + Establish clear metrics to track performance, evaluate strategic impact and drive continuous improvement.

    + Foster a culture of learning and innovation; support professional growth and development of team members.

    Requirements

    + Minimum 10 years in patient advocacy or related experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or another healthcare sector.

    + Knowledge of government and commercial payer sector/reimbursement, government affairs or policy development preferred.

    + People leadership experience preferred.

    + Exceptional strategic thinking and planning skills.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.

    + Professional presence to support effective engagement with stakeholders.

    + Team player who can collaborate, support and implement both internal and external strategic initiatives to advance objectives

    $174,500.00 - $274,230.00

     

    The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
