Description
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Ensures compliance with all EH&S current and developing country and location regulations, codes, and key constraints.
+ Work with the location and corporate EH&S Team to develop and implement standardized programs to maintain full compliance with EH&S regulations and standards to meet/exceed metrics.
+ Measure plant performance benchmarking against best-in-class manufacturing to create and implement plans with a focus on continuous improvement.
+ Develop, review, maintain and conduct EH&S program training that are required to enhance EH&S Performance
+ Provides strategic direction to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
+ Implement/maintain behavior-based safety program
+ Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
+ Manage Safety & Health programs within OMS plant to include International Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations. Includes developing and providing guidance to all Plant managers and EHS personnel at all locations.
+ Assure proper recordkeeping of results in all areas and develop effective and efficient reporting mechanisms that meet the regulations and inform the leadership.
Skills and Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and/or Environmental or related field
+ Minimum 4 to 8 years of experience in EHS role(s) involving leading and coaching employees
+ Ability to interact with all levels of management.
+ Excellent leadership abilities and knowledge of OSHA & EPA requirements
+ Knowledge and experience with Behavior-Based Safety techniques
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to lift 20 lbs. as needed.
+ Ability to bend, stand, climb, twist, and stoop for extended periods.
+ Ability to perform sedentary work, including sitting for extended periods.
+ Ability to operate standard office equipment.
+ Have good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
+ Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
+ Travel as needed to accomplish desired results. Overnight travel may be required occasionally.
Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors, which include but are not limited to exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises, vibration from use of equipment, and the following:
+ Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
+ Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin – fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, or poor ventilation.
+ Oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
