    The Director, Compliance Business Partner is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of a robust compliance program across assigned business area(s) within the company’s Human Pharma business unit. This role serves as a strategic business partner, providing proactive guidance and practical solutions to support daily operations. The Director ensures the implementation of effective compliance controls, comprehensive training, and monitoring programs, and drives timely remediation efforts to uphold regulatory standards. By offering risk-based insights, the Director advises leadership on achieving business objectives ethically and efficiently.

     

    Collaboration is key—this role works closely with business partners and cross-functional teams within the Compliance & Integrity Department to foster a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.

     

    The Director, Compliance Business Partner (CBP) is a pivotal role providing strategic guidance and compliance oversight for business initiatives within the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic therapeutic area, with a particular focus on Obesity and Liver Health. This role requires a proactive and collaborative leader who can build trusted relationships with senior leaders across Medicine and Commercial functions. The CBP will deliver solution-oriented compliance advice, ensure appropriate controls and training are in place, and support the product lifecycle—from proof of concept through post-launch. Success in this role means being recognized as a valued and integral partner to the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic therapeutic area.

     

    This role has a flexible hybrid onsite work schedule 2-3 days per week in our Ridgefield, CT headquarters dependent on business needs.

     

    Compensation Data

     

    This position offers a base salary typically between $170,000 and $269,000.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here.     Duties & Responsibilities

    + Provides compliance expertise and guidance to assigned business area(s), including serving on the area’s Senior Leadership and/or other team(s) as a standing member, providing proactive and timely counsel or guidance on business strategies, plans or projects.

    + For assigned areas, review risks and deploy "smart risk-taking" strategies to ensure an appropriate / acceptable level of risk.

    + Leads the development, implementation, and on-going management of compliance systems and tools for assigned area(s) (e.g., policies, SOPs and training) and within Compliance & Integrity function.

    + Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned business areas, ensuring that compliance systems are tailored to operational realities while upholding regulatory, legal and ethical standards. This role requires proactive engagement with business partners to embed compliance into daily operations and strategic initiatives.

    + Maintains a deep and continuously updated understanding of the external regulatory environment, including U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Office of Inspector General (OIG) guidance, industry standards, and enforcement trends.

    + May lead (recruit, hire, coach, develop, motivate, manage and monitor performance) and provide direction to team of Compliance professionals providing business partner support for assigned area(s

    + Collaborates with personnel responsible for risk assessment, training, auditing and monitoring as related to assigned area(s).

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related area. Master’s Degree or Law Degree highly desired.

    + Minimum of ten years of experience in compliance or legal role, including a significant leadership role within a U.S. pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences company.

    + Exhibits strong compliance acumen and a solid grasp of government, market, health system, and payor dynamics. Must be capable of working independently to resolve issues, exercising sound professional judgment and accountability.

    + Strong background working with related business groups

    + Strong interpersonal management skills and experience.

    + Demonstrated ability to critically analyze and assess business and regulatory information and effectively communicate at all levels in the organization.

    + Proven ability to lead and influence diverse groups.

    **Eligibility Requirements** :

    + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

    + Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).

    + Must be 18 years of age or older.
