    We are searching for the best talent for a Head, Real World Value and Evidence – Immunology, to be based in Horsham, PA.

     

    **Purpose:** Responsible for leading U.S. real-world value and evidence (RWVE) research strategy and execution for defined Therapeutic Area in alignment with the therapeutic area’s business partner (Medical Affairs, Strategic Customer Group, Business Unit) strategic plans.

    Other key responsibilities are as follows:

    + Serve as a key leader on the Immunology Medical Affairs (MAF) Leadership Team. Represent Immunology on behalf of all USMA functions, including RWVE, on cross-TA initiatives at the US MSB or global MAF level. Collaborate, assist and support Therapeutic Area Leads (TALs) and TA specific teams in execution of their goals and strategy.

    + Serve as a leader on assigned cross-functional teams, with internal partners such as RWVE colleagues, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Strategic Customer Group, Global Market Access, Epidemiology, Government Affairs and Policy, Johnson and Johnson Health Care Systems and other J&J Operating Companies.

    + Accountable for team’s design, scientific rigor, and timely execution and publication of immunology RWVE studies, leading the Dermatology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Autoantibody RWVE TA-specific Immunology team to ensure a comprehensive, highly competitive strategy in yearly Integrated evidence generation plans across all immunology products and therapeutic areas.

    + Guide team in strong partnership with the Integrated Evidence Teams to deliver against strategic imperatives by developing individual real-world research priorities, studies and budgets and by developing innovative data sources and approaches.

    + Accountable for US-specific external health economic comparative assessments and contributing any appropriate RWVE component to TA-specific external requests for data related to treatment algorithms or guidelines.

    + Serve as the key point of contact and communication for US MA Immunology with payer-focused cross-functional partners for Immunology, including Field V&E, Strategic Customer Group, Global RWVE, Global Market Access, R&D data science, and Payer-marketing.

    + Oversight of the strategic selection of key research questions and data elements throughout the therapeutic area lifecycle plans

    + Develop payer value story and ensure value proposition is well communicated and validated across multiple stakeholders

    + Evaluate long-term (3 – 5 years) business opportunies and gaps to identify evidence needs across the entire portfollio

    + Actively manage performance, create development plans and facilitate development activities for their respective team members

    + Identify new opportunities and processes to maximize data generation and dissemination

    + Ensure U.S. RWVE inputs and payer insights are incorporated into the development portfolio through collaboration with Global Strategic Marketing, Scientific Evidence and Policy Research, and Global Market Access

    + Ensure team builds strong external relationships with thought leaders and research partners

    You will be responsible for:

    + Responsible for strategic direction, hiring, training, development, appraisal, and progress review of their respective therapeutic area teams including problem-solving for direct reports. (15 – 20%)

    + Collaborate with internal and external business partners to ensure the successful development, implementation and dissemination of strategic and tactical plans aligned with business unit goals. (20 - 25%)

    + Responsible for developing and managing their respective therapeutic area budget. (10%)

    + Ensures compliance of regulatory, legal and commercial regulations (for example Contract Pricing Committee, Copy Approval Committee) in conducting research and dissemination of scientific information keeping customers central to all thinking. (15 - 30%)

    + Serve as a leader on assigned cross-functional franchise teams, including participation in leadership teams and special projects. Cross functional teams include: RWVE colleagues, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Strategic Customer Group, Global Market Access, Global Real World Evidence, Epidemiology, Government Affairs and Policy, Johnson and Johnson Health Care Systems and other J&J Operating Companies. (15 – 30%)

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    + A Master’s degree Public Health, Health Services Research, Economics, Epidemiology, Health Policy or related field is required; A Doctorate is preferred.

    + At least 10 or more years of relevant experience

    + Expert on health economic and outcomes research to support the value proposition

    + Firm understanding of and active evaluation of change in the United States health care system and customers; specifically understanding unique business models and perspectives

    + Expert in developing and implementing evidence dissemination plans in compliance with company policies and standards

    + Firm understanding of the uses of evidence-based medicine and comparative effectiveness for health policy decision-making

    + Proficient at strategic thinking and ability to work across multiple therapeutic areas and franchises to apply resources and priorities appropriately

    + Collaborate and integrate planning across appropriate Johnson and Johnson areas that create and strengthen the value proposition

    + Develops people for optimal performance. Sets an exemplary standard for modeling and coaching others

    + Forges a vision for responsible areas in Real World Value and Evidence

    + Implements positive change to create a competitive edge

    + Creates an achievement environment to facilitate team effectiveness

    + Must be able to make sound organizational and business decisions. Organizational decisions necessary will include organizational design, allocation of human capital, people selection and development. Will need to match capacity against highest Real World Value and Evidence priorities in support of the business. Also responsible for critical input to strategic decisions regarding major prospective and retrospective Outcomes studies.

    + Must be capable of identifying and applying innovative and creative methodologies and new technologies that provide optimal execution Real World Value and Evidence strategies in support of the business. This leader must be aware of emerging segments of business that warrant attention and will need to respond to these new business models with optimal data generation and dissemination strategies and tactics.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills – works with internal and external partners with ease

    + Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation and written)

    + Proven leader – inspires others to lead and manage by example

    + Excellent negotiation and influence skills – understands how best to deploy limited resources to satisfy multiple customers and objectives and communicates decisions to management

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $193,000 - $333,500

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
