Join UPMC as a full-time Patient Services Representative (PSR) at our new Lighthouse Medical Group location! This is your opportunity to shape the future of healthcare from the ground up. Enjoy weekday-only hours (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with no weekends required and play a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. In this front-facing role, you'll welcome patients, assist with check-in and check-out, verify insurance, collect payments, and promote digital tools like MyUPMC. Epic experience is preferred as we build efficient, patient-centered workflows from day one.

In this role, there is the opportunity to -
+ Welcome patients with a warm, professional greeting to create a positive first impression and set the tone for the visit.
+ Guide patients through self-arrival technology or complete check-in at the desk based on their preference.
+ Collect copayments and applicable patient payments at the point of service while educating on financial responsibilities.
+ Update and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and consent forms to ensure accurate registration.
+ Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate ancillary services to support continuity of care.
+ Promote the use of MyUPMC and assist patients with portal registration and digital engagement tools.
+ Educate patients on financial advocacy resources and connect them to appropriate support when needed.
+ Assist with resolving patient inquiries and follow up on unresolved issues to ensure service satisfaction.
+ Direct incoming calls appropriately and support administrative tasks such as scanning and faxing.
+ Demonstrate service excellence by performing service recovery and upholding UPMC standards and HIPAA compliance.
Required
+ Completion of high school graduate or equivalent
Preferred
+ Experience with personal computer-based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills
+ Experience in a medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function
+ Knowledge of medical terminology
+ Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Act 34 with renewal
