UPMC Family Hospice is hiring a Hospice Aide for a Full-Time position at the Family Hospice Inpatient Unit
36 Hours 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights
Provide designated care under the direction of the primary service provider in the hospice inpatient unit (IPU) to achieve identified goals of patient care.
Responsibilities:
+ Participate in all required agency meetings.
+ Identify, develop, and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of services we provide.
+ Communicate appropriately with the interdisciplinary IPU care team promptly, reporting any changes in the patient's condition to appropriate professional staff.
+ Provide safe and direct personal care to patients in the IPU setting under the direct supervision of an appropriate professional
+ Fulfill agency responsibilities by completing all required forms accurately and promptly.
High School Diploma or GED - Required
Must have completed a training and competency evaluation program as specified in Home Health and/or Hospice as applicable: Condition of participation: Home Health aide services.
One (1) year of experience
Certified Nurse Aide Preferred
Must maintain annual competency evaluation scores as determined by regulatory requirements.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Required: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Act 33
+ Act 34
+ OAPSA
