Job Overview
To meet and exceeddefinedrevenue goals byfinding,developing, and securingnew group accountswhilegrowingoverall exposure and opportunity for the property. This will require the aggressive pursuit of potential business, negotiation of commitments, and ensuring strong client relations.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Sales:
+ Targets results-oriented high revenue potential sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program,in accordance withgoalsestablishedby department budget and marketing plan.
+ Must have own reliable transportation andpossessa valid state driver’s licensetomake sales calls.
+ Key Account Management: Maximizes current hotel key accounts byidentifyingand capturing those that offer revenue growth.
+ Achieves a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, asestablishedby management.
New Account Development:
+ Move market share fromcompetitor accounts through networking,researchandavailable sales tools.To target andsolicitnew accounts togenerate new business.
+ Acquirereferrals fromgrowingexisting accounts.
+ Responsiveness:Must be able to manageleadvolumewithabove average response times and network with other Sage properties to grow lead referrals.
+ Plan andmanagean on-goingtargetedaccountdevelopment "hit list"tocreate new revenue andacquirevaluable hotel contacts andbusiness.
+ Continually target and prospect for new business throughcommunications, travel/trade show efforts, sales calls andcreative andinnovative tactics and strategies.
Yield Management:
+ Utilize yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitmentstoenhancepropertyfinancial performance.
Account Service and Management:
+ Maintaina well-documented,accurate, organized,and up-to-date file management systemtobestserveclientsand employer in the most expedient, organized,and knowledgeable manner.
+ Delphi and Cvent experiencearepreferred.
+ Develops strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous,and ethical interpersonal interaction.
+ Develops customer profiles andmaintainsan effective trace system, including trace dates and referencestobest meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.
+ Promptly follows-up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
Product Knowledge:
+ Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation and studiesmarketplaceand territorytoeffectively capitalize on thepropertystrengths andsell against thecompetition.
Time Management:
+ Focus on revenue-producing activitiesandmaximizeselling time by dedicating aminimum of90%of worktime on direct sales efforts.
+ Professionalism: Controls expenses while traveling on the property's behalftominimize department and hotel costs.
+ Representsthemselves, thehoteland SageHospitality Group. with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, a service-focused approach, and a caring, sincere attitude.
+ Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments andmaintainsopen communications with all co-workers for the best overall performance of the hotel.
+ Displays a neat, clean, and business-like appearancealways.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
+ All other duties as assigned,requestedordeemednecessary by management.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Indirect supervision of Sales Coordinator.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Experience
3-5 years of hospitalitysalesexperience required. Association and SMERF market experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
+ Requires knowledge of general sales techniquesand current best practices.
+ Requires yield management experienceand ability to work with revenue management.
+ Requires highly developed customer service skills.
+ Requires ability to hear, speak,readand write English fluently.
+ Requires 12th grade level mathematics, spelling and reading skills.
+ Requires effective business writing skills.
+ Mustbe ableto meet clients on and off premises, to tour property and attend functions, to climb stairs, use door keys,operatebasic office equipment, and travel as needed.
+ Vision to read fine print and computer screens, to see colors, to observe rooms in poorly lit conditions.
+ Understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
+ Work on more than one task at a time.
+ Develop strong internal and customer relationships.
+ Set and manage priorities and plan activities in advance.
+ Solve problems and make sound business decisions. Respond to coaching,feedbackand training.
+ Strong and effective sales skills.

+ Bending/kneeling - repeated bending and kneelingrequiredwhile filing
+ Mobility - must be able to reach all areas of hotel toassistclients. Occasional standing. Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.

General office and hotel environment. Potential hybrid role based on candidate experience.
