SCOPE:
The VP, Financial Reporting will primarily be responsible for external financial reporting for Hills Bancorporation and Hills Bank and Trust Company.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Financial Reporting
+ Preparation of management and regulatory reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulators including:
+ + 10-K (annually)
+ 10-Q (quarterly for first three quarters of year)
+ Proxy Statement (annually)
+ Certain Call Report schedules
+ Shareholder Relations:
+ + Prepare quarterly reports (three quarters)
+ Prepare annual report.
+ Assist with shareholder initiatives, as needed.
+ Coordinates work related to both internal and external audits as they related to the review of the Bank's financial information. Responsibility for implementation of recommendations resulting from audits and exams, as applicable to financial reporting.
Financial Accounting Duties
Ensures that the Bank's financial records are maintained in compliance with Bank policies, US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. The specific areas include, but are not limited to:
+ Fixed assets
+ Leases
+ Servicing fees
+ CECL
+ Income Taxes, including current and deferred income taxes, federal and state tax estimates and year-end tax computation and schedules
Financial-Related Duties
Ensure that the following information reporting and control activities are completed in compliance with Bank policies.
+ Information reporting (1099s, etc.)
+ Medallion guarantee program
+ CDARS / ICS programs
+ Liquidity stress testing
+ ProfitStar Back testing
+ Annual review of incentive compensation
Other Duties
+ Special Projects
+ Bank Event and Community Involvement
Supervision
The VP, Financial Reporting will supervise and mentor the Financial Reporting Officer. The VP, Financial Reporting will also work closely with the accounting staff.
+ Coordination of financial training for accounting and financial reporting staff, along with others requiring financial training.
EDUCATIONS AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
+ C.P.A. certificate
+ 8-10 years related accounting/auditing experience with public accounting experience, including work with financial institutions.
+ Must be able to work under stress, handle difficult situations, and work with deadlines.
+ Position requires the ability to work before or after normal business hours, including Saturdays, to meet deadlines and attend various meetings.
