The **Director of Inpatient Nursing Operations** will develop and oversee Harborview’s Patient Care Services (PCS) special projects and quality initiatives to assure alliance with and adherence to the organization’s mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and business strategies. Emphasizing service excellence, patient safety, staff safety and organizational integration, the director leads divisional program development and service priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
*Lead and support organizational initiatives furthering the mission of UW Medicine and Harborview Medical Center
*Provide leadership support and oversee quality initiatives within the patient care environment.
*Support of organization expansion and innovation.
*Evaluate, develop, implement, and support leadership development initiatives, leadership advancement opportunities, and leadership retention.
*Analyze, monitor, and lead seasonal surge staffing and census variations and contract labor utilization.
*Provide educational services to clinical leadership.
*Promote clinical innovation and patient care technology integration.
*Plan for and support leadership coverage during leadership vacancies and extended leaves.
*Oversee and monitor contract labor and surge activities throughout HMC.
WORK SCHEDULE:
* 40 hours per week
* Primarily Monday - Friday, but with 24/7 accountability for the delivery of care
* Primarily day shifts, with additional hours as needed
LOCATION:
Harborview Medical Center campus, Seattle, First Hill.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
*Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.
*Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
*Four to five years of professional nursing experience in service area to include one or more years in a supervisory position such as a Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager.
*Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.
