    About The Park School

     

    The Park School is a Pre-K to Grade 8 independent school in Brookline, MA dedicated to excellence in education.     The Manager of Development Operations & Special Events is a member of the School’s Development Office and reports to the Associate Director of Development. This is a full-time 12-month position providing critical foundational support for Park’s high-level philanthropy program.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    The Manager will oversee all gift processing, reporting, and database management in support of the School’s $2.3M Annual Fund and $35M capital campaign, SPARK . The Manager will lead/support several special events per year to advance institutional engagement and fundraising goals.

    The Manager of Development Operations & Special Events will:

    Gift Processing, Reporting & Database Management

     

    + Manage all gift processing in Raiser’s Edge, producing thrice weekly gift reports for the Development team, making weekly check deposits, and partnering with the Business Office for monthly gift reconciliations

    + Manage the timely acknowledgement of all gifts to Park

    + Generate all Development reports and documentation necessary for annual summer audit

    + Track pledge fulfillment for the Annual Fund and The SPARK Campaign , producing personalized pledge reminders three times per year

    + Manage campaign cash flow reporting

    + Prepare the Monthly Progress Report (MPR) tracking year-to-date progress toward goals across the full Development program

    + Generate accurate mailing lists and reports from Raiser’s Edge as needed to support mailings, events, phonathons, committee meetings, volunteer solicitations, and prospect reports

    + Support the Assistant Director of Annual Giving in the production of the Annual Report

    + Maintain donor records as needed

     

    Special Events

     

    + In partnership with the Director of Development, conceive, plan, and execute whole-school community events (Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day, Picnic at Park, etc.)

    + Support the Senior Director of Alumni Relations / Major Gift Officer in the execution of several alumni events per year (Reunion, local engagement events, phonathons)

    + Support the Assistant Director of Annual Giving in the execution of Annual Fund and volunteer recognition/stewardship events

    + Support the Director of Development and Associate Director of Development in the execution of campaign-related events (cultivation events, ribbon-cuttings, etc.)

    Other Responsibilities

    + Co-manage annual Giving Day with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, establishing goals and strategy, developing communications, and managing the GiveCampus platform

    + Partner with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving on the annual faculty and staff giving effort, aiming for 90%+ participation

    + Manage the Development budget and expense tracking

    + Support team-wide projects, mailings, meetings, and cross-departmental collaborations as needed

    + Enthusiastically participate in the life of the School

    + Meet expectations as defined by the Park School Employee Essential Expectations

    Qualifications

    Qualifications / Requirements

     

    + A minimum of 2 years of professional experience,  gift processing/database management or school experience strongly preferred

    + Exceptional Raiser’s Edge and data analytics skill set.

    + Superior ability to analyze, interpret, and present data

    + Demonstrated ability to develop and implement impactful event programming

    + Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and project management skills

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to work with various institutional stakeholders, including donors, trustees, parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends of the School

    + Experience working successfully in a culturally and economically diverse community

    + Volunteer management experience preferred

    + A flexible, collegial team player excited to work in a collaborative and dynamic small-shop environment

    + Ability to work nights and weekends as needed

    Physical Requirements

    +  Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.

    + The ability to occasionally actively move about the office to access file cabinets and necessary supplies.

    + The ability to consistently operate a computer. Proficient or the ability to quickly learn  Google tools and other school softwares.

    + The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

    + The ability to deploy situational awareness to preserve the safety of students and community members.

    + The ability to think independently and collaborate in a team environment.

    + The ability to maintain focus in an energetic and, at times, loud environment.

    + The compensation range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000 annually. Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to, external market data, internal equity, skillset, experience, and/or performance, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive compensation details, inclusive of any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
