    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Program Manager of Arts in Health is responsible for executing the strategic vision and operations of all arts activities and programming to align with the system vision of providing whole person care. This position creates opportunities for patients, their caregivers and families, healthcare providers, and the broader community to experience meaningful engagement with the arts. These experiences result in numerous, significant benefits that aid the healing process, and aim to improve quality of life for those we serve.

     

    Under the direction of the Arts in Health Curator, this position is responsible to lead and oversee healing arts programming, including art, music, and dance therapy programs; artist residencies; live performances; hands-on artmaking; art gallery exhibits. This includes managing staff, interns, volunteers, and vendors, and all associated budgets.

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Lead and manage arts in health programming to realize its fullest potential to heal and enhance patient, staff and stakeholders’ experiences.

    2. Directly manage all arts in health program staff, volunteers and student interns including recruitment, hiring, training, and providing general oversight.

    3. Represent HFH by building relationships and partnerships with community organizations, artists, & other related stakeholders.

    4. Establish and manage budgets, including through philanthropic grants, related to arts in health programs.

    5. Manage and prepare annual expenses for program needs, and impact reports.

    6. Develop strategies to ensure sustainability of arts programs, including fundraising and donor engagement strategies with development partners, & research opportunities with research associates.

    7. Work with the Development Office to secure additional grants and/or external funding to expand program, including donor engagement strategy, donor giving opportunities and stewardship reporting.

    8. Develop evaluation mechanism(s) to measure impact on program participants.

    9. Partner with multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities to integrate the arts into clinical settings, including research initiatives.

    10.Manages recruitment/selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of visiting artists, community partners and vendors related to arts activities.

    11.Procurement and distribution of materials and resources for healing arts activities.

    12.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Development, Public Relations/Marketing, Volunteer Engagement, etc., to develop strategies for meeting system goals and best engaging our community.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's degree in arts administration or related field required.

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing art programs required.

    • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience or managing the work of others.

    • Experience in a health-care setting preferred.

    • Strong project management skills required.

    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office suite, required.

    • Must possess excellent communication skills- written, verbal and listening skills.

    • Must demonstrate all aspects of professionalism, including prompt and courteous service, positive demeanor in stressful situations, and attention to detail.

    • Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovative thinking.

    • Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.

    • Must enjoy collaboration and be a team player.
