    Industrial Engineer

     

    Howmet Aerospace’s Wichita Falls, TX facility has an opening for an Industrial Engineer. This position is a key member of the location’s Facility Engineering and Maintenance Team.

    Job Responsibilities:

    This position develops, evaluates, and improves integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. They focus on optimizing processes, reducing waste, and ensuring efficiency in manufacturing, logistics, and other operational areas. Their work involves a combination of analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to enhance productivity and minimize costs.

     

    + Works closely with Maintenance Leadership, Maintenance Technicians, Automation team and Facility Engineering Team to monitor maintenance activities with an eye toward improving productivity and efficiency.

    + Designs efficient maintenance processes and workflows.

    + Ensures maintenance and preventative maintenance activities are designed so that products meet quality standards.

    + Identifies and reduces waste in maintenance activities.

    + Plans maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules for evaluating efficiencies.

    + Implements controls to monitor costs and minimize maintenance issues.

    + Works with maintenance supervision and other departments to schedule maintenance activities.

    + Works with Maintenance, Facility Engineering, and Automation to ensure spare parts inventory are adequate to support immediate repairs of critical equipment.

    + Helps to develop activity instructions for maintenance personnel.

    + Ensures that maintenance processes are safe and addresses safety issues and concerns. Enforces all safety, environmental, and health policies and procedures.

    + Generates maintenance documentation and efficiency reports.

    + Administrator of Maintenance Work Order System to ensure all work orders are coded, and issued correctly, provides data from work order archives as necessary and provides process measures of maintenance performance.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    + Knowledge of production machinery, processes and standards in the field or industry

    + Understanding of lean manufacturing and supply-chain management

    + Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Just in Time (JIT) strategizing

    + Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

    + Data analytics skills and experience

    + Attention to detail

    + Understanding of ergonomics

    + Project management skills

    + Strong communication and presentation skills

    + Organizational, planning and documentation skills

    + Adept at using presentation software and presenting complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders

    + Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously

    + Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms or 3D modeling preferred

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field such as mechanical or manufacturing engineering from an accredited institution.

    + 2 years of engineering or operations experience in a manufacturing environment.

    + Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

    + This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Strong foundation in engineering principles, including manufacturing processes, product design, ergonomics, and quality control.

    + Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.

    + Proficient in statistical analysis tools or other analytical techniques.

    + Able to effectively communicate technical information to various audiences, verbally and in writing.

    + Able to collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and professionals on projects.

    + Experience managing and executing capital projects.

    + Previous experience in Industrial Engineering .

    + A high degree of interpersonal skills to motivate and influence others, including those not under their direct supervision.

    + Experience with work design and work balancing .

    + Able to perform time studies, document procedures and create standards.

    + Analyze data to improve productivity and ergonomics while reducing costs, and removing bottlenecks, interruptions and other wastes.

    + Proficient user of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
