    Overview

     

    Are you passionate about solving complex problems and keeping machines and systems running smoothly? In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repair of production and facility programmable equipment, in alignment with safety standards and predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes, to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This job will specialize in electrical/controls and programing related work.

    Responsibilities

    + Must have knowledge of plant systems and operations.

    + Be organized and able to supervise the work of other personnel

    + Must have strong mechanical ability to handle preventative maintenance and adjustments on equipment

    + Follow all established standard maintenance procedures while working on equipment

    + Understand all operating equipment within the plant.

    + Set up machines per established procedures

    + Participate in training and development programs including all areas of environmental, health and safety issues, especially those dealing with proper handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste.

    + Position requires handling scraps materials and disposable protective clothing containing lead which requires proper disposal as a hazardous waste, which are to be disposed of in appropriately marked hazardous waste containers

    + Follow health and safety practices as they apply to area of work and the facility

    + Performs other responsibilities and duties assigned by supervisor

    + Perform appropriate housekeeping tasks as needed

    + Handles and manages hazardous waste

    + May participate in emergency in minor cleanups and spills

    + May sign manifests for shipment of hazardous waste off-site

    + Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

    + Basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills.

    + Must have a background in and or technical training in mechanical systems.

    + Good blood lead required

    + Capable of wearing a respirator as required by job position

    + Good work record, attendance and possess good communication skills

    + Must be available to work overtime

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Able to see, hear and speak; able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, sit, bend, crawl, squat, kneel and climb; able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals and lift 40 pounds from floor level to overhead, able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms, able to wear respirator and other PPE as required, able to climb stairs. Regular use of safety glasses and shoes. Vision requirements: close vision.

    ENVIRONMENT:

    Able to work inside or outside the plant environment and in all climate conditions. Exposed to lead, fumes, chemicals, operating equipment, and vehicles.

    TRAVEL:

    Travel as required for training, meetings with regulatory agencies, and to other company sanctioned events.
