Leidos’ Defense Systems Mechanical Manufacturing Facility is seeking a **Shop Floor Expeditor** to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will need to have a background in Material Handling and be able to operate a fork-lift in a safe manner.

Primary Responsibilities
+ Move raw materials from staging areas to CNC Machines on the Shop Floor.
+ Operate a fork lift and use safe lifting techniques.
+ Keep machines stocked with materials and stage jobs according to a Production Schedule.
+ Resolve problems related to production jobs such as configuration changes, engineering changes, material issues, schedule priority, etc.
+ Monitor production status of jobs to ensure they meet schedule requirements.
+ Collaborate with schedulers to correctly prioritize work in process and firm planned work.
+ Report job status to management.
+ Report job status using spreadsheets, custom reports, etc.
+ Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Inventory Control.
+ Expedite jobs as required.
+ Participate in status meetings weekly.
+ Participate in Lean Six Sigma Kaizen Events as needed.
Basic Qualifications
+ BA degree with less than 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
+ Ability to achieve a fork lift certification.
+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication abilities.
+ Ability to work overtime as required in a fast paced production environment.
+ Excellent attention to detail and willingness to be creative.
+ Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Fork lift or material handling experience with metals.
+ MS Excel experience (Basic Working Knowledge).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $79,900.00
