**General program information and/or position overview.** _As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will serve as a critical link between engineering design and production execution, supporting complex, high-reliability ocean systems within an ISO 9001 environment. This role bridges engineering and manufacturing, with a focus on Lean principles, design for manufacturability, and continuous improvement. Strong knowledge of PLM and MES systems is essential for managing configuration control and driving efficient production processes across the product lifecycle._

Primary Responsibilities.

+ _Provide manufacturing engineering support for high-complexity, mission-critical ocean hardware/software systems in compliance with ISO 9001 standards._

+ _Act as a key liaison between design engineering and production teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, quality, cost-efficiency, and scalability from prototype through full-rate production._

+ _Provide final manufacturing approval of engineering drawings, ensuring alignment with production capabilities and assembly flow._

+ _Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to develop manufacturing work instructions in an MES system to clearly define the manufacturing processes for: fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment._

+ _Develop and maintain Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and As-Built Configuration BOMs using Windchill PLM to ensure end-to-end configuration control and traceability._

+ _Initiate and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) within Windchill, ensuring accurate part revision control and seamless design transitions across lifecycle stages._

+ _Coordinate with Engineering and the Material Review Board (MRB) to evaluate nonconformances and implement corrective design changes where needed._

+ _Troubleshoot and disposition hardware anomalies across the full production lifecycle while ensuring quality and on-time delivery targets are met._

+ _Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the floor, with emphasis on:_

+ _Implementing and sustaining formal 6S programs and visual workplace systems._

+ _Leading Value Stream Mapping (VSM) activities to identify waste and streamline flow._

+ _Calculating takt time and analyzing cycle times using visual metrics and charts._

+ _Promoting single-piece flow and reducing reliance on traditional batch-and-queue operations._

+ _Facilitating and leading Kaizen events utilizing the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology and ensuring total employee involvement._

+ _Provide mentorship and support to production personnel in Lean practices, (PLM) Windchill usage,(MES) Solumina usage, and product/process understanding to foster a culture of continuous improvement._

Basic Qualifications.

+ _Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial/Systems, or Aerospace Engineering and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience._

+ _Knowledge, training, and experience for most of the primary responsibilities defined_

+ _A passion for lean enterprise_

+ _A background in traditional manufacturing process tools including Costpoint and/or Solumina or other ERP and MES applications_

+ _Requires in depth working knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts and principles_

+ _Proficient using Microsoft Vizio and Power Point_

+ _Must have excellent written communication and visual presentation skills, and the ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to technical problems_

+ _Ability to work productively and cooperatively within a concurrent engineering environment_

+ _Background in ISO 9001 Standard_

Preferred Qualifications.

+ _Experience with Windchill PLM system_

+ _Experience with ERP system_

+ _Experience with Solumina MES_

+ _Past participation in a Lean Transformation initiative_

+ _Mastery of all the primary responsibilities defined_

+ _Background in AS 9100 Standard_

+ _Proficiency in all MS Office applications_

+ _Proficiency in Power BI_

+ _Six Sigma Certification_

+ _Lean Certification_

+ _Manufacturing experience in Electrical and/or Mechanical Fabrication_

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
