    Dental Services at Mercy Hospital is only one of two dental departments in the entire Cleveland Clinic enterprise. As a Dental Hygienist on the team, you will work directly with patients by performing cleanings, taking x-rays and educating patients on oral hygiene. This is a fast-paced environment with back-to-back schedules, requiring a caregiver with a strong work ethic and flexibility.

     

    A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM - 5:00PM.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Review and update patient medical history.

    + Perform intraoral and extraoral examinations.

    + Record examinations on patients' charts.

    + Take radiographic x-rays.

    + Perform oral prophylaxis.

    + Elect and instruct patients on oral hygiene and care methods.

    + Perform cross cover duties as a Dental Assistant.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program

    + Current State License as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    + Two years of experience as a Dental Hygienist in which progressive dentistry was practiced

    Physical Requirements:

    + Manual dexterity sufficient to handle and operate various dental hygiene tools.

    + Requires frequent standing, walking, reaching and computer entry.

    + Requires normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using PPE as required.
