    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Our **Abbott Point of Care** (APOC) division has an opening for a **Senior Manager, US Market Access** . As part of the US Commercial team, the **Senior Manager, US Market Access** will drive efforts to enable patient access to the **Abbott Point of Care** (APOC) portfolio by providing health economic and reimbursement support and engaging local and regional payers. The **Senior Manager, US Market Access** will be responsible for supporting both established products as well as new product launches in the US market. This position can be remote within the US or based out of our Princeton, NJ headquarters **.**

    What You’ll Work On

    + Serve as primary point of contact for discussions around coverage and reimbursement for APOC products with health systems, laboratory benefit managers, public and private payers, medical directors, and other clinical and economic decision makers.

    + Establish and manage key relationships with healthcare providers, payers, laboratory benefit managers, economic thought leaders, public agencies, and patient advocacy groups, understanding their needs and effectively shaping and communicating the Abbott Point of Care value proposition.

    + Support creation of health economic and market access strategies (including, value messaging, coverage, coding, payment / reimbursement, etc.) based on understanding of US customers’ clinical and financial needs and decision-making processes.

    + Develop and implement market access and reimbursement tactical plans for new and existing products based on strategic plans.

    + Provide payor, clinician, and patient perspective on development of internal & external tools and resources related to coverage, reimbursement, and market access.

    + Collaborate with Global Medical & Scientific Affairs, R&D/Clinical Affairs, Global Strategic Marketing, and Global Market Access on value propositions and evidence generation to support market access.

    + Develop local health systems evidence through planning, designing, and executing studies to support economic models that demonstrate product value for providers, patients, and payers.

    + Provide strategic direction on economic buyer and commercial payer-related issues for reimbursement, coverage, and contracting of APOC products.

    + Monitor relevant health policy developments (i.e., CMS policy, evidence-based medicine, HTA’s, customer or competitive activities) and provide Abbott management meaningful guidance on opportunities and risks for product adoption and actions to mitigate the risk.

    + Secure appropriate reimbursement for products through timely preparation of submissions, effective understanding of local processes and engaging key stakeholders.

    Required Qualifications

    + B.A. or B.S. Degree required; master’s degree in business administration, public health, and/or health policy preferred.

    + At least 8 years of experience in healthcare industry is required, with medical device, biotech (part B drug) or diagnostics experience preferred. Hospital or reference laboratory experience valued.

    + Minimum of 4 years of experience inMarket Access and Reimbursement within life sciences industry; ideal candidate will have experiences in multiple regional or national healthcare delivery systems.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Knowledge of US market access and reimbursement pathways including Medicare and Medicaid, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Value-based care, as well as peer-review publication strategies are highly desirable.

    + Understanding of hospital setting (especially ED, CVOR and CCU departments) and outside of hospital setting (such as urgent care, free-standing ED, ambulatory center, and oncology).

    + Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentation and listening skills with senior level staff).

    + Demonstrated track record influencing market access strategies for existing products and new product launches.

    + Demonstrated analytical skills related to market research, pricing, financial modeling, and identification of key business insights.

    + Positive attitude, confidence, integrity, and professionalism.

    + Initiative and self-motivation; strong work ethic; leadership and team orientation; strong proactive interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with others; ability to work in a matrixed environment, strong cross-functional management by influence.

    + Ability to travel up to 40% and live within 50 miles of major airport (e.g. ATL, BOS, CLT, DCA, DEN, DFW, EWR, IAD, IAH, JFK, LAS, LAX, LGA, MCO, MIA, MSP, ORD, PHL, PHX, SEA, SFO, SLC, etc.).

    The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 – $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
