Environment, Health, and Safety Generalist - Part Time

Part-Time Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Generalist (3 Days/Week)
Join a leading Environmental, Health & Safety organization as a part-time EHS Generalist, offering a flexible schedule of 24 hours per week. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large-scale organization dedicated to safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and implement environmental compliance and occupational health and safety programs.
- Support multiple projects and customer needs in a fast-paced setting.
- Perform inspections related to environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Lead initiatives to reduce injuries, environmental impact, and promote sustainability.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions.
- Support behavioral safety programs and analyze safety performance indicators.
- Serve as a point of contact (POC) for safety councils and internal communications.
- Develop and deliver EHS training for employees and contractors.
- Interpret OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, ANSI standards and regulations.
- Participate in emergency response planning and HazMat operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and cross-company EHS professionals to foster a safety culture.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, industrial hygiene, safety engineering, environmental studies, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of EPA, Cal/OSHA regulations, and ANSI standards.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving EHS issues with practical controls.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data management systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene programs.
- CHMM certification preferred.
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training certification.
- Experience developing and delivering engaging EHS training.
- Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations effectively.
