    The Operations Supervisor will supervise the AASD (Aging and Adult Services Division) Operations Team, which is responsible for providing core centralized operational supports across the entirety of the Aging and Adult Services Division, Minnesota Board on Aging (MBA), and Nursing Facility Rates and Policy Division (NFRP). Operational support includes developing and managing administrative policies and procedures, providing administrative support to the division, providing meeting and event support, and serving as technical support liaison. The Operations Supervisor also serves as Continuity of Operations (COOP) coordinator for AASD. Responsibilities include:

     

    + Exercise supervisory authority to ensure that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered and employees under my jurisdiction will effectively perform assigned job duties to achieve the annual objectives of the team

    + Manage and direct the development of administrative and operational policies and procedures related to core centralized supports. Provide oversight of all operations tasks. Support MBA and AASD Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans

    + Develop ongoing systems and methods to train division staff on operational policies and procedures

    + Define and manage the strategic plan for the Operations Team, providing direction and overall work priorities to ensure operations, staffing, and other resources align with Division and Department objectives and comply with federal and state standards

    Minimum Qualifications

    Demonstrated leadership experience*

    *Leadership experience can include:

    + Experience as a supervisor, leadworker, team lead, project lead;

    + Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4);

    + A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG) - experience must include:

    + 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions

    + 100+ hours per year time commitment

    AND

    4 years of specialized professional work experience demonstrating the following:

    + Data and information management procedures and systems such as document management, data retention, and other office procedures and terminology

    + Business and management principals involved in planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

    + Business practices for managing office operations, communications, and workflows

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Project Management Software); ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and impactful content for diverse audiences

    + Demonstrate strong human relations skills; communicate clearly and professionally with a variety of individuals/groups, in person and in writing

    + Ability to develop clear written policies and procedures to guide division and admin staff

    + Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and/or cultures
