SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Security Manager, the Training Coordinator will ensure that all AnMed Security Officers are fully oriented and trained in all applicable laws, regulations, and standards for a proprietary security organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops, plans, and leads AnMed Security Department in the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) training for proprietary security. This training will consist of all new officers upon orientation and annual recertification and training for existing officers.

2. Develops, plans, and leads AnMed Security Department in the CPI Nonviolent Crisis Invention training for all Security Officers. This training will consist of all new officers upon orientation and annual training for existing officers.

3. Develops, plans, and leads AnMed Security Department TASER training for all Security Officers. This training will consist of all new officers upon orientation and annual training for existing officers.

4. Develop, plans, and leads AnMed Security Department Firearms training for select Security Officers.

5. Coordinate with Nursing Staff Development on the certification of Basic Life Support training for all security officers.

6. Works with and coordinates with Morgue Attendant duties related to the AnMed Morgue, in collaboration with Anderson County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).

7. Manage the maintenance of the document control system for all Security policies and procedures.

8. Ensure that all mandatory and regulatory organizational requirements/training are all up to date and maintained by all Security Officers.

9. Assist Security Manager in regular Department Staff Meeting.

10. Research best practices as it relates to Security practices in healthcare.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA or BS Degree, due to the level of written regulations from state and federal agencies, it requires this level of education to interpret and comply with these standards.

Or

• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in working with regulatory requirements (i.e., SLED, DHEC, Joint Commission/DNV) with regards to security related issues.

• Registered Security Officer with South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) or the ability to obtain.

• Certified through South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) as trainer for private security organization or the ability to obtain.

• Certified through CPI as trainer for Nonviolent Crisis Prevention or the ability to obtain.

• Certified through TASER as trainer or the ability to obtain.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of peers both within AnMed Health and outside the organization.

• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulatory regulations and guidelines related to private security organizations.
