Job Description

Direct interface with construction general contractors during the bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases.

Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.

Create construction project scope and request for proposals.

Financial analysis of construction.

Construction project management for specific initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of our data centers.

Constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs associated with the construction of new data centers or optimization of existing data centers.

Construction document management including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.

Construction project quality control.

Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.

Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis associated with equipment failures.

Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.

Day to day: meetings with GC, meetings with permitting managers, project engineers, making sure the schedule is on track

No direct reports

Not running/optimizing the data center, need the construction of the data centers

Keeps track of pricing to make sure they're not being overcharged

Earth moving, building roads, water pipes, etc.

Can't be a true electrical engineer, need to be well-versed with construction

Skills and Requirements

Procore Experience

HVAC/Cooling System Background and/or Electrical Background

Strong reporting/scheduling experience

Experience being superintendent of a construction site and dealing with contractors/sub-contractors

10+ years of experience overall as a construction manager or superintendent

Over 5+ years of experience with working with data centers and/or mission critical experience (large/complex/infrastructure projects)

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction or similar field of practice null
