    SUMMARY: The Temporary Senior Human Resources Generalist will assist the Human Resources department during a peak time of the year. This key member of the team will be assigned to Benefits and Compensation projects, Employment Administration, Employee Relations, Talent/Performance Management and Training and Continuous Improvement Initiatives. This person acts as an employee champion and change agent and is responsible for developing and implementing programs that align Kayem’s workforce with key business strategies to meet its goals. Works with and under the direction of the department manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Strict Confidentiality is required. This assignment is expected to run through Mid-November 2025.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Lead and fully execute effectively key HR projects or initiatives that support Kayem’s policies, vision, and culture within the HR function and across the organization.

    + Lead, manage, and participate in Human Resources Functional areas including: Employment administration, Onboarding, Offboarding administration, Compensation/Benefits/Leaves, Workman’s compensation, Employee relations and engagement, Performance management, and Training.

    + Plan, Lead, manage and participate in significant and complex projects. (i.e. Implementation of benefit programs, instituting or maintaining department workflow, procedures and policies, compensation plans, conducting town halls and education and training)

    + Identify data collection tools, data sources, benchmarks and performance targets. Performs Data analysis and Senior Management reporting.

    + Manages (develops, writes, translates) internal policies and company communications.

    + Maintains and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

    + Leads/participates in additional projects as needed/assigned.

    Skills and competencies:

    + Strong compliance background, strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are needed. This key member of our team must be independent, results oriented, customer focused, organized and detail oriented. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and drive projects independently.

    + Strong Project management skills and detail oriented.

    + Thoroughness and accuracy.

    + Ability to learn new information quickly (i.e. technology, compliance related matters, significant initiatives)

    + Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.

    + Must have the ability to work onsite in our Chelsea, Massachusetts location for four days per week and on 2nd and 3rd shift occasionally for company meetings, events or to meet with team members.

    + Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and drive projects independently.

    + Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is required.

    + Proficient in Word, Excel, and PPT in a MS Teams environment.

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The position requires a basic knowledge of benefits administration.
