    **Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS)** has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Quality Manager to support the Strategic Defense Systems (SDS) team in Ogden, Hill AFB, or Layton, UT!

    Position Responsibilities:

    + Performs management activities across multiple Quality Management Job Families

    + Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies. Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness and clarify expectations

    + Develops workgroup, project or operational goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategy

    + Provides education and coaching on the Quality System

    + Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements

    + Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports

    + Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provides on-going developmental feedback

    + Recognizes contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce

    + Keeps others informed by communicating program or project status, conducting and participating in team meetings, providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions

    + Implements strategies to improve open and honest communication within the department

    + Identifies opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own workgroup, project or process

    + Ensures workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements

    + Engages and empowers employees to make process improvements

    + Achieves goals for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction

    + Measures progress, making adjustments as needed

    + Holds direct reports accountable for achieving goals

    + Creates a culture of continuous improvement by communicating/deploying enterprise best practices and employee engagement to improve cost, quality, delivery, employee job satisfaction and customer satisfaction

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    + Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Engineering or STEM, preferred)

    + 5+ years’ experience within a Quality organization

    + 3+ years’ experience performing in a leadership role

    + 1+ year of experience working with Quality Systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS91001))

    + Experience developing and maintaining close customer relationships

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    + 5+ years’ experience with leadership either formally or informally

    + 3+ years of experience developing root cause corrective actions

    + 3+ years of experience in leading and/or managing complex projects

    + 3+ years’ experience with APQP and Lean

    + Communications and interpersonal skills, as well as experience building positive relationships inside and outside of an organization

    + Experience leading a Quality organization/group

    + Experience providing input on the development of departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with company vision/strategy

    Summary pay range: $108,800 – $147,200
