Description
Robert Half Management Resources is looking for a Finance Director Consultant to support our premier entertainment client on a 6+ month hybrid engagement in West LA. This consultant will report directly to the SVP of Finance and another senior Director, overseeing a small team of one to two professionals. The consultant will play a key role in leading the financial planning process for the client’s U.S. TV Production Division. Responsibilities will include managing the mid-range plan, quarterly forecast, and budget processes, reviewing series ultimates for forecasting and reporting purposes, and collaborating with senior management and the business affairs team to model financial scenarios that inform content strategies. Additional duties may include managing process controls and handling special projects as assigned. The ideal Finance Director Consultant will have a strong foundation in financial planning and analysis (FP& A), in-depth experience with IFRS, and the ability to collaborate across departments, including finance (e.g., distribution/reporting) as well as non-finance teams (e.g., business affairs and creative). Entertainment industry experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the financial planning process, including mid-range plans, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
• Review and analyze series ultimates to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
• Collaborate with senior management and business affairs teams to develop financial models that guide content strategy.
• Manage financial consolidation processes and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Oversee process controls and provide strategic input on special financial projects as needed.
• Build and maintain strong cross-departmental relationships with both finance and non-finance teams, including distribution, audit, and creative teams.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support high-level decision-making through advanced financial modeling.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices, particularly within the entertainment industry.
• Supervise and mentor a small team of finance professionals to achieve departmental objectives.
Requirements
• Extensive experience in FP& A at a senior managerial level, preferably within content production or media.
• Expertise in IFRS and proficiency in preparing series ultimates for forecasting, deal analysis, and reporting purposes.
• Strong knowledge of financial consolidation processes, including planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Expertise in financial modeling tools and systems such as SAP, Essbase, or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
• Background in the entertainment industry, particularly in U.S. television production, is highly desirable.
• Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment based in Culver City, California.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead cross-functional collaborations effectively.
