The Customer eXperience Impressions (CXI) team is SCOT’s lens into the customer experience, ensuring that every supply chain decision, whether it is forecasting demand, optimizing inventory placement, or accelerating delivery, aligns with what matters most to customers. A successful candidate will have an established track record of developing and delivering complex distributed software systems, a keen technical aptitude, excellent project management skills, solid communication skills, and be driven to achieve results. Software Development Managers at Amazon are expected to quickly understand organizational and product goals and map them to managed project deliverables. They must be able to divide tasks across a team and manage team execution. They are fully responsible for the day to day operations of the team and held to a high standard on the quality of product produced and the quality of ongoing support and maintenance provided to our customers. They must build effective teams and organizational structure. Hire and develop the best talent to execute on their vision.

Key job responsibilities

- Drive prioritization and planning of projects and features

- Thinking big and working with leadership, cross teams and business stakeholders to define strategy and roadmap

- Facilitating the design of the architecture of these distributed and highly scalable systems to solve complex problems.

- Monitoring, validation, and operation of production services

- Owning the inputs and the business outcome through cultivating a culture of relentless auditing and metric monitoring, automatically where possible.

- Setting clear, measurable quality goals for the organization and collaborate across orgs to drive achieving them

- Mentoring and promoting team members and help leaders to grow the organization

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience

- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
