    Analyst – Private Credit

     

    AIG Inc is a multinational general insurance company with global assets under management of $78B.

     

    The investment portfolios of the parent holding company, and the associated group insurance affiliates are managed by AIG Investments. Led by the Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO), and supported by a team of regional CIOs and associated support staff, AIG Investments designs and manages the asset allocation of the investment portfolios aligned to the specific risk and return targets of the underlying businesses. Day to day management of individual asset classes is outsourced to a number of approved external asset managers. The CIO team oversees the relationships with the external managers, which includes tasks such as evaluating performance, assessing tactical asset allocation recommendations and appraising suggested changes to investment portfolio guidelines.

     

    Your Contribution at AIG

     

    As part of the evolution of the AIG Investments Target Operating Model (TOM), the CIO Team are seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across a number of asset classes, including private credit. The Analyst, Private Credit will support the Head of Private Credit in the management of the global Private Credit Portfolio which includes manager due diligence, portfolio monitoring, risk management as well as special projects. The Analyst will work with third party managers across fund and SMA strategies in the private credit space, including private placements, direct lending and asset-backed finance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of manager performance across current and new strategies

    + Utilize Aladdin and other tools as needed for portfolio monitoring.

    + Build and maintain relationships with third party asset managers, GPs and other market participants

    + Maintain reports to track and monitor prospective and existing investments, including performance attribution

    + Provide support for various portfolio operational matters, including accounting, risk management and other governance related tasks

    + Conduct special projects as needed (e.g., analysis of private credit holdings, portfolio exposures, performance attribution, portfolio construction, investment strategy, industry trends and technology initiatives)

    + Produce written reports and presentations, as needed

    + Attend investment manager meetings and industry conferences, as appropriate

     

    What We Are Looking For

     

    + 3 plus years of relevant work experience required, with insurance asset management experience (either at an insurance company or with a third party manager in the insurance platform) highly preferred.

    + MBA or CFA preferred.

    + Third party manager oversight and experience vetting managers and or GPs preferred.

    + Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical reasoning skills

    + Strong relationship/client management skills

    + Superior written and verbal communication skills and fluency with Excel and other essential computer programs

    + Attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple tasks, respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines

    + High ethical and professional standards

     

    The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$109,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
