Description We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Forest Hills, New York. In this role, you will focus on managing and improving collection processes while ensuring excellent communication with clients regarding outstanding balances. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in credit and billing collections, who is eager to contribute to the financial health of a dynamic healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage commercial and consumer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.

• Communicate professionally with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and negotiate payment terms.

• Maintain accurate records of collection activities and update systems with the latest account information.

• Collaborate with internal departments to streamline credit and collections processes.

• Analyze accounts to identify trends and recommend strategies to improve collection rates.

• Prepare and present detailed reports on collection performance and account statuses.

• Handle escalated accounts with tact and efficiency to achieve resolution.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in collection practices.

• Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency of collection workflows. Requirements • Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections, preferably in the healthcare industry.

• Strong knowledge of credit and billing collection processes.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to analyze account data and identify patterns.

• Proficiency in relevant software and systems used for collections.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Familiarity with legal requirements and regulations related to collections.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
