Description

We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Oakland, California. This role is ideal for someone eager to build their accounting skills and gain hands-on experience in financial processes. You will work closely with the team to ensure accuracy, organization, and compliance in all accounting activities.

This part-time job sits on site in Oakland, but will be approx 8 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including tracking expenses and reconciling accounts.

• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external use.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with company policies.

• Use QuickBooks to manage financial data and generate relevant reports.

• Support the team with month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Review invoices and payments to verify accuracy and proper allocation.

• Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely transactions.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency.

• Handle ad hoc accounting duties as assigned to support departmental needs.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks software is required.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
