Description
Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization based in Nashville is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This is an onsite role and a pivotal position supporting the financial integrity and operational excellence of a well-established organization dedicated to community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead the full month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
+ Manage grant accounting and compliance, including tracking restricted/unrestricted funds, budgeting, and reporting to grantors
+ Support and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring accurate documentation
+ Prepare financial statements and internal reports for leadership and board review
+ Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP, Uniform Guidance, etc.)
+ Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a nonprofit organization
+ Hands-on experience with grant accounting and fund tracking
+ Strong knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
+ Proven experience managing or supporting external audits
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
+ Experience with nonprofit accounting systems (e.g., MIP, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Nonprofit, Foundation) is a plus
+ Must be able to work onsite in Nashville
