Description

Robert Half is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a dynamic and fast-paced family office, managing the personal financial operations of a high-net-worth family. This is a prominent Direct Hire role that gives you hands-on involvement with the principals as well as the responsibility of overseeing a wide range of personal financial and administrative activities. The position combines core accounting functions with complex personal business management, including accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, payroll tax submissions, and financial statement preparation. Additional responsibilities include handling credit card reconciliations, travel coordination, art acquisitions, and vendor management for private events. The Staff Accountant will also support special initiatives such as residential property projects, requiring contractor coordination, timeline oversight, and accurate vendor payments. The ideal candidate is polished, resourceful, and thrives in a demanding environment while maintaining discretion, precision, and professionalism. This role is hybrid once the training period has concluded.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping/accounting experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

+ Experience supporting privately held companies and their owners; family office experience is a plus

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and accounting software packages

Strong knowledge of:

+ Accounts receivable/payable

+ Bank reconciliations and daily cash management

+ Payroll processing and general ledger posting

+ Financial statement preparation and reporting

+ Credit card reconciliation and expense reporting

+ Capital call and distribution notices

+ Cash flow projections and general ledger analysis

+ Loan schedule maintenance and payment processing

+ Charitable pledge tracking and agreement review

+ Year-end 1099 reporting and tax package preparation

+ Asset tracking and insurance updates

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality

+ Polished, composed, and confident demeanor with strong interpersonal skills

+ Ability to work independently and respond to client requests with urgency and discretion
