Description
Tammy Power with Robert Half is partnering with a company based in Bakersfield is seeking a hands-on Accounts Payable Manager to lead its AP operations and team. This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role.
As the AP Manager, you’ll report directly to the Controller and oversee all aspects of invoice processing, payment cycles, compliance, and vendor relations across multiple entities. The ideal candidate is a process-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience scaling or streamlining high-volume AP departments.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervise daily AP operations, including review and approval of invoices, payment runs, and reconciliations
+ Manage and mentor a team of AP specialists and clerks
+ Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices in compliance with internal policies and controls
+ Maintain vendor relationships, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies
+ Oversee month-end close related to AP and assist in accruals and audit support
+ Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies
+ Collaborate with accounting and procurement teams to align workflows and approvals
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
+ Strong ERP experience
+ Advanced Excel skills
+ Familiarity with large, multi-entity environments a plus
+ Detail-oriented with a passion for clean processes and strong internal controls
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
