Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal with extensive experience in litigation to join our team on a contract basis. This position is based in Houston, Texas, and offers an opportunity to work on diverse personal injury cases while supporting our legal team in delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files to ensure compliance with court requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to prepare legal documents, including discovery materials and trial exhibits.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis to support case strategy and legal arguments.
• Assist in trial preparation by organizing case materials and coordinating logistics.
• Manage case management software to track case progress and deadlines effectively.
• Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high level of accuracy.
• Communicate with clients and external parties to gather information and provide updates on case status.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ensure adherence to court rules and procedures throughout all stages of litigation.
• Handle other administrative tasks as needed to support the litigation team. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate is required, with certification dependent on regional or client-specific requirements.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in litigation, preferably within personal injury law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, with strong Excel skills emphasized.
• Strong organizational abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with case management software and civil litigation processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to work variable hours based on case demands.
• Knowledge of discovery processes and trial preparation procedures.
