Key job responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative front-end features for Zappos.com, enhancing our online shopping experience
- Architect scalable solutions that can handle our vast product catalog and high traffic volumes
- Collaborate with our UX/UI teams to implement designs that align with Zappos' unique brand and culture
- Optimize website performance to ensure fast load times and smooth user interactions
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to our culture of learning and growth

The Front End Engineering team at Zappos is a group of talented high output engineers dedicated to creating an amazing ecommerce experience.
We empower our engineers to work on impactful projects reaching millions of users, utilizing the latest technologies.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- Expert-level proficiency in React.js and its ecosystem
- Strong experience with Next.js for server-side rendering and static site generation
- Advanced knowledge of TypeScript and its application in large-scale e-commerce projects
- Experience with state management in complex applications (e.g., Redux, MobX, or Recoil)
- Proficiency in responsive web design and ensuring a consistent experience across devices
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and potentially GraphQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
