    Description

    Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Syracuse client of his that is looking to hire a Sr. Accountant. This role involves helping to manage daily accounting operations, ensuring financial reporting, and contributing towards the financial well-being of the company. You will also be involved in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis in a manufacturing context.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure recording of transactions to maintain general ledger accuracy

    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP

    • Manage functions related to cost accounting, such as inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis

    • Help supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing

    • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives

    • Guarantee compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax requirements

    • Conduct financial analysis to aid management in decision-making

    • Collaborate with external auditors for year-end audits and tax filings when required

    • Identify and implement process improvements to amplify accounting efficiency and accuracy

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in accounting or related is required
