Director of PMO
Compensation: $180,000 - $220,000 base salary + 20% discretionary bonus
We’re seeking an experienced Director of Project Management Office (PMO) to lead strategic initiatives and oversee the portfolio of IT projects at a fast-paced, growing organization in the Retail, eCommerce, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. As the Director of PMO, you will play a critical role in defining and driving technology roadmaps, managing cross-functional programs, and ensuring the successful delivery of key business priorities.
This leadership role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact at the enterprise level, influence technology decision-making, and drive cross-departmental collaboration in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead and Oversee Project Portfolio: Manage a diverse portfolio of IT projects and cross-functional programs, ensuring they align with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
+ Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with senior leadership to define program goals, establish technology roadmaps, and prioritize initiatives that support strategic company growth.
+ Cross-Functional Delivery: Oversee the delivery of objectives across IT, Retail, eCommerce, Marketing, and Mobile Applications teams, while fostering alignment across departments.
+ Agile Execution: Promote and enhance an agile approach to project management; lead efforts to scale Agile or SAFe methodologies as needed.
+ Leadership and Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor across the organization, influencing stakeholders at all levels using strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Data Governance and Compliance: Partner with teams to implement data governance policies, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
+ Team Management: Lead and mentor a growing PMO team, including the management of a current direct report. Build internal capabilities by defining best practices, tools, and frameworks related to project management.
+ Innovation and Problem Solving: Recommend improvements and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, and business outcomes.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications
+ Industry Expertise: 10+ years of experience managing IT projects and programs within Retail, eCommerce, or CPG industries.
+ Leadership Experience: 5+ years at the Director-level (or equivalent), with demonstrated success leading cross-functional program management efforts and managing direct reports.
+ Technology Acumen: Hands-on experience delivering solutions in areas like eCommerce platforms, mobile applications, and marketing technology tools.
+ Proven Track Record: History of driving the successful delivery of large-scale programs and managing multi-million-dollar project portfolios.
+ Certifications Preferred: PMP or PMI Certification is highly desirable. ITIL, Agile, or SAFe certifications are a strong plus.
+ Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with data privacy frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA, including experience implementing related policies in an enterprise setting.
+ Communication and Influence: Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate at all levels of an organization and translate complex ideas into actionable strategies.
+ Mindset: Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to navigate ambiguity, wear multiple hats, and operate effectively in a fast-moving company with ambitious growth plans.
