Position Summary:

Provides timely, accurate, and accessible electronic clinical patient information charting by prepping and scanning medical records using the DCS/ QCI application through the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Reports to: Director

FLSA: Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*Performs duties related to the receipt, preparation, scanning, and destruction of health and administrative information.*

*Scans documents into the EMR system in a timely manner to ensure that information becomes available for patient care.*

*Performs quality control to ensure the integrity and completeness of document imaging.*

*Assists with answering phones and greeting visitors.*

*Inspects equipment, structures, and materials to identify the cause of errors, problems, or defects.*

*Interviews patients and reviews medical records to obtain required information. Prepares legal and complimentary birth certificates, and notarizes required documents.*

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

*Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent

*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.*

*Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.*

*Minimum Work Experience

6 months in office setting

6 months healthcare experience (Preferred)*
