Overview

The Steakhouse Captain will be responsible for creating the overall guest experience, taking food and beverage orders, carrying out wine/beverage service, performing table maintenance, completing side work, maintaining health code standards, and providing excellent customer service for our guests according to Atlantis' standards.

The incumbent in this position, as with all members of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Team, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. This position shares in the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa support of the company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and consistently performs all functions in a fashion that inspires and motivates others to actively pursue

Responsibilities

+ Oversee end of the night close down and side work. Assist Team Members in wine and food service.

+ Keeps communication flowing between front and back of the house to ensure proper timing of food delivery.

+ Maintain positive guest relations to ensure that a positive dining experience is delivered by the Team Members.

+ Must have time management skills to ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.

+ Decrease expense through proper handling of product.

+ Increase revenue through suggestive up-sell.

+ Work with Maitre D’ to oversee proper sequence of service from Team Members

+ Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned service area.

+ Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Qualifications

+ Knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, including food, beverage, supervision, service techniques and guest service.

+ Previous experience in a food environment in front or back of the house.

+ Time management skills are required.

+ Must have Wine knowledge to assist our guests.

+ Tableside cooking.

+ Knowledge of menu items including ingredients and preparation.

+ Must have a Friendly and outgoing personality.

+ Must be able to multi-task in a high volume, high stress environment while exceeding guest expectations.

+ Must have and maintain professional demeanor.
