Project Clean Slate
We are in search of a n experienced project manager, particularly in a legal setting. An initiative of the City of Detroit, Project Clean Slate helps residents seek expungement of their criminal records to gain access to employment, housing, and educational opportunities .
The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist class includes all positions whose duties are to identify and address process and project improvement opportunities within the City of Detroit . The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist must possess a detailed understanding of project management, project development, project implementation and project resolution . They are expected to have a broad understanding of change management and change implementation.
Occupational Information
The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist is responsible for supporting the Executive Director . Candidates must possess knowledge of project development and have t he ability to manage a project from start to finish . They assist with the development and implementation of departmental goals and initi atives . The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist possesses expertise in data analysis and has the ability to work with advanced levels of data analytics .
Must drive change and process improvements within the team and client base . The position is focused heavily on managing a wide range of projects involving data collection, process improvement, and dissemination relating to strategy, planning, and organizational effectiveness efforts. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Examples of Duties
The major functions performed by the Project Manager & Analytics Specialist include the development and tracking of data and subsequent analysis an d application of the results . They work with the internal team , clients, and external entities to identify areas requiring poten tial reorganization or improvement and develop and implement initiatives based on this research. The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist must display a h ighly developed skill set in the identification of data and t he resulting application of project analysis and change initiatives .

+ Track metrics and p roduce weekly and monthly re p orts

+ Assist with p ublic facing initiatives
+ Coordinate P CS community events

Exam p les of Duties
+ Analyzes data from a variety of database sources and formats for research, systems, and re p ort design. ?
+ Assists stakeholders in understanding generated re p orts, out p uts, and o p erational interfaces, and counsels them on their use, and in finding ways to be used to im p rove their functionality.
+ Assists with the im p lementation of divisional goals, initiatives and p lans.
+ Develo p s and im p lements initiatives to im p rove work p rocesses.
+ Drives fact-based decision making at all levels within the organization.
+ Drives p rocess im p rovement initiatives, including automation, on the p rocesses/tools used to increase the ca p ability and efficiency of re p orting efforts.
+ Manages p roj ect develo p ment and execution from ince p tion to closure.
+ P resents results of analyses concisely and effectively to ensure ado p tion.
+ P ro duces summarization re p orts, out p uts, and o p er ational interfaces that p resent research findings to Executive Director and stakeholders.
+ P ro vides recommendations for im p roving p rocesses , o p erational efficiencies, and system ex p eriences through in-de p th analysis.
+ P rov ides su p p orting information to substantiate research findings.
+ Tracks and re p orts p roj ect milestones and status re p orts to City de p artments and p rogram funders .
+ Works in conjunction with the Executive Director to manage change control and ensure consistency and alignment of change control management across the d e p artment.
Project Manager & Analytics Specialist III – This is the senior level of this series in which an employee acts as a subject m atter expert and/or in a leader ship type of role . They perform a wide scope of responsibilities . Employees may perform duties which have City-wide impact and involve working with a wide variety of individuals and grou ps . The work of a Project Manager & Analytics Specialist is reviewed on an as-needed basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree with major in human resources, data analytics, project management, business, management, organizational development, or labor relations.
Experience
Project Manager & Analytics Specialist III – Advanced levels of responsibility and three to four (3-4) years of human resources experience in any combination of the following components: compensation, recruitment/staffing, benefits, labor relations, employee relations, training and development, and organizational development.

RETIREMENT BENEFITS
City Employees Retirement System
As a regular City employee you automatically become a member of the General Retirement System. This entitles you to a retirement allowance after:
• Completion of thirty (30) years of service;
- At age sixty (60) if you have at least ten (10) years of service, or
- At age sixty-five (65) with eight (8) years of service.
