    Overview

     

    The Director of Clinical Professional Development provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for clinical staff professional development and education across the enterprise. The Director leads a team of Clinical Education Practitioners and Clinical Education Specialists responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of education initiatives fostering pediatric clinical excellence, supporting lifelong learning, and advancing professional nursing practice. The leader collaborates with department-based and senior leadership to ensure the clinical education needs are met for clinicians at every level of experience and expertise. The Director coaches and mentors others to collaborate with leaders and end-users to develop, implement, and maximize education strategies to support positive patient experience, clinical outcomes, and clinical competency.

If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

    Responsibilities

    + Provides leadership for clinical education and competency to ensure alignment with organizational priorities, quality and safety goals, the nursing strategic plan, and Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) standards.

    + Develops and executes a system-wide strategy for clinical education.

    + Designs and oversees a standardized onboarding experience for new clinicians.

    + Promotes a culture of lifelong learning, evidence-based practice, and professional growth.

    Qualifications

    + Master's Degree Nursing

    + Nursing Education or related field (DNP Preferred) and

    + 5-7 years experience

    + Experience in clinical education or professional development role.

    + One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire

    + One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire

    + RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO

    + Must obtain MO or KS Registered Nurse Multistate License within 90 days of hire

    + Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provide Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

    + Specialty certification (e.g. NE-BC, CPN, etc.) required upon hire. Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC) or equivalent certification required within two years of hire date. Required Upon Hire

    Starting Pay

     

    Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $47.55/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

     

    Remote Work/Work from Home

     

    This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
