Summary This position is located at White Sands Missile Range Post Library. Responsibilities Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves. Assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials. Basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials. Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1.One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade OR 2. Two years of education above high school OR 3. A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements. Best Qualified Questions: Answer yes to one or more of the following: -At least three (3) months experience (paid or unpaid) of planning, implementing, and executing events and programming for adults, teens, and/or children -At least three (3) months experience (paid or unpaid) registering patrons, charging/discharging materials, and/or assisting with interlibrary loans -At least three (3) months experience (paid or unpaid) in basic/copy cataloging -At least three (3) months experience (paid or unpaid) in a library that provided specific knowledge of library rules, policies, and procedures for circulation, technical service, and/or events Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list. Education Two years of education above high school or a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
