The Opportunity
As the Director of Detection Operations, you will have the chance to shape and lead a top-tier fraud detection program within a dynamic and evolving environment. This role is crucial in safeguarding our customers and Ally by ensuring we "Do it Right" and driving strategic fraud detection and prevention efforts. You will lead a team of fraud detection professionals, ensure thorough, efficient, and compliant operations while fostering a culture of integrity and continuous growth. With your expertise in fraud detection and client servicing, you will enhance our detection capabilities and improve client contact methodologies. This high-impact leadership role involves driving transformation, implementing innovative fraud-fighting strategies, and collaborating cross-functionally to strengthen our fraud defenses. In office role with Hybrid schedule, currently 3 days in office and 2 remote
The Work Itself
* Detection Operations Leadership: Oversee fraud detection operations with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Ensure cases are handled with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
* Customer Experience: balance fraud mitigation with the customer experience to limit friction.
* Operational Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance fraud detection processes and client servicing. Optimize methodologies to maximize detection effectiveness and minimize losses.
* Team Management: Maintain appropriate oversight routines for managers and associates across detection operations, ensuring consistency in processes, risk assessments, and decision-making. Leverage data and analytics to enhance fraud detection while continuously optimizing operational effectiveness.
* Change Management & Transformation: Drive continuous improvement through transformation initiatives, process optimization, and the implementation of emerging technologies and best practices.
* Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate cross-functionally with risk, compliance, legal, and technology teams to strengthen fraud detection frameworks.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate key fraud trends, risks, and detection outcomes to senior leadership and external partners as necessary.
The Skills You Bring
* 7+ years' experience in fraud detection operations or related field required.
* Ability to lead multiple site locations, working multiple shifts, 7 days a week.
* Strong background in fraud operations including process development, process controls, fraud strategy, and risk mitigation.
* Deep understanding of Reg CC, UDAAP adherence, and customer-focused fraud mitigation. Resolve customer complaints and enhance concerns.
* Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, develop talent, and build a strong culture of integrity and accountability.
* Expertise in change management and transformation, with a track record of driving organizational improvements.
* Harness data and analytics to drive day-to-day operations, create new and meet existing key performance indicators and service levels. Provide executive-level commentary.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
