Job Title: Purchasing Department Lead
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead and manage our purchasing department personnel and daily operations. This role includes assuming direct responsibility for a portion of domestic sourcing to improve efficiency and streamline operations.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the consolidation of sourcing responsibilities to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
+ Hire, develop, and mentor employees, ensuring alignment with evolving departmental structure.
+ Establish and continuously improve department practices and procedures.
+ Oversee departmental budget and resource allocation.
+ Drive performance management and accountability across the team.
+ Personally manage key domestic sourcing responsibilities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management.
+ Select and develop supply base based on technology, cost, and quality needs; develop negotiating strategies to optimize results.
+ Maintain stable, sustainable supplier relationships and act as the escalation point for logistics and global trade.
+ Ensure ERP/MRP processes align with fulfillment strategies and generate sound material acquisition strategies.
+ Evaluate and develop formal contracts that protect the company and add stability to supplier relationships.
+ Ensure parts availability and mitigate shortfalls through proactive sourcing and planning.
+ Drive cost reduction through negotiation strategies and competitive sourcing.
+ Influence product life cycle decisions and manage End of Life activities.
+ Analyze markets and recommend major purchases based on cost and availability trends.
+ Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and excess inventory reviews.
+ In partnership with the Director of Operations, establish and execute strategic goals for the department.
+ Lead the integration of new KPIs and dashboards to monitor sourcing and inventory performance.
+ Act as a cross-functional leader, collaborating with operations, accounting, sales, and external partners.
+ Recommend product pricing through market research and cost analysis.
+ Stay current on industry trends and best practices through continuous learning.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in purchasing, data analysis, and vendor management.
+ 3 years of raw materials experience.
+ Direct report experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
+ Excellent negotiation and strategic planning skills.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective supplier relationships.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $51.00/hr.
