    Aston Carter is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper for a manufacturing company. The role is a remote role that would require roughly 15-20 hours per week.

    Bookkeeping (QuickBooks):

    + Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

    + Process and reconcile bank and credit card statements.

    + Record and categorize all financial transactions accurately.

    + Generate invoices and process customer payments.

    + Prepare and process vendor payments.

    + Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

    + Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

    + Generate financial reports (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet) as needed.

    + Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

    Inventory Management (QuickBooks Desktop Project & Ongoing):

    + Initial Setup Project: Take the lead in setting up and configuring the inventory module within QuickBooks Desktop for our manufacturing and distribution operations. This includes:

    + Developing and implementing a clear inventory tracking system.

    + Importing existing inventory data accurately.

    + Establishing appropriate inventory accounts and costing methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, Average Cost – depending on company preference and best practice).

    + Creating assemblies and bills of material for manufactured products.

    + Training relevant staff on basic inventory procedures within QBD.

    + Ongoing Maintenance:

    + Daily recording of raw material purchases and finished goods production.

    + Tracking inventory movement, including receipts, issues, and transfers.

    + Processing sales orders and updating finished goods inventory.

    + Conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.

    + Analyzing inventory data to identify trends and potential issues.

    + Providing regular inventory reports to management.

    + Working closely with the production and sales teams to ensure accurate inventory levels.

    Payroll:

    + Process accurate and timely payroll for one to three employees using QuickBooks Payroll.

    + Calculate and process all payroll deductions, including taxes (federal, state, local) or other items.

    + Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., W-2s, payroll tax filings, and as applicable1099s).

    + Prepare and process direct deposits and/or physical paychecks.

    + Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any payroll-related inquiries from employees in a professional and confidential manner.

    + Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records and files.

    + Assist with year-end payroll reporting and audits as needed.

    Job Qualifications

    + 2+ years of experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

    + Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop

    + Strong, demonstrated experience with QuickBooks Desktop, specifically with setting up and managing the inventory module, is a must.

    + Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP and tax basis).

    + Experience with inventory costing methods

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

    + Available to work 15-20 hours per week

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
