JobSummary: The Energy Manager’s primary responsibility will be on energy management and energy reduction for all stores and home office facilities. The position requires an experienced professional whose background and experience will enable them to develop and grow programs for measuring, supporting, and implementing opportunities to improve energy efficiencies. The Energy Manager will communicate and present energy sustainability goals to a varied audience from stores to senior management.
An employee in this position can expect a rate of $100,000 annually, depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.
This position is a hybrid role working out of our NYC, NY office, which is located in Union Square.
WhatYouDo:
• Position will identify, define, and execute energy savings initiatives, projects and develop best practices. This will include a review of a site-by-site analysis of energy usage and development of specific energy reduction strategy.
• Have three to five years of minimum experience in managing and developing analysis and metrics to guide facilities to issues and remedies for best practice in energy efficiency.
• Have the technical background necessary to manage the existing energy savings programs from EMS settings, on-demand execution, Swarm Logic AC, and heat programs, etc.
• Develop, produce, and interpret usage information to determine which stores are using more energy per square foot and store type and provide cost savings opportunities.
• Monitor utility billing to ensure accurate and timely payments are authorized and applicable credits are applied for on-demand rebates. Ensure rebates are pursued and received for energy-saving cap ex programs initiated by facilities and real estate.
• Develop cost analysis spreadsheets with a pricing matrix for each electrical and gas supplier in regulated markets, assuring that all locations are on the most economical cost structure.
• Have sufficient related experience of managing through the third-party energy consultant the electric or natural gas supplier contracts in deregulated markets.
• Complete the setup of new store and closing locations utility changes.
• Must have experience leading a team, setting team direction, and advocating for the team to internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge&Experience:
• Ideally, 5-7 years’ related experience with a bachelor's degree or advanced education.
• Formal energy management qualifications such as CEM, CMVP, etc. would be advantageous.
• Multi-unit energy management experience in the retail industry.
• Have a proven background in energy management and have familiarity with ESG, sustainable efforts, and goals, etc.
• The candidate must be technically organized.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to adjust communication style based on the situation and the audience. Report to senior management on the progress of energy goals.
• Work with Schneider Electric and Encycle on their platforms, Resource Advisor, Swarm Logic, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
• Exceptional knowledge of Excel
• Strong Communication skills, ability to interact well with contractors, consultants, as well as landlords and internal business partners
• Integrity and Trust, admits mistakes and is seen as a truthful individual
• Knowledge of the lease process and documentation
• High-level understanding of Mechanical systems
• Nationwide market knowledge of the construction trade and variables
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working in high-volume capacity
• Solid decision-making skills based on changing conditions
