Position OverviewAt United Health Services (UHS), we believe healthcare is fundamentally about people—and the connections that bring us together. As a Lead Provider Recruiter, you will play a dual role: leading full-cycle recruitment of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) while also guiding and supporting a team of provider recruiters in the execution of recruitment strategies across the health system.
This lead role goes beyond hiring—it is about building strong pipelines, championing process improvement, and mentoring a team that reflects UHS’s core values of compassion, trust, respect, teamwork, and innovation. You will help define and elevate our recruitment experience by setting the standard for how we attract, engage, and retain top-tier clinical talent.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Direction
+ Serve as the day-to-day lead for the Provider Recruitment team, offering strategic direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
+ Act as a resource and escalation point for provider recruiters on complex or high-priority searches.
+ Ensure consistent and effective execution of recruitment strategies and candidate engagement efforts across all specialties.
Recruitment Strategy & Execution
+ Manage a portfolio of high-impact, executive-level, or sensitive provider searches.
+ Partner with senior clinical and administrative leaders, as well as HRBPs to forecast provider workforce needs and align recruitment efforts accordingly.
+ Lead strategic sourcing initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and regional representation across UHS’s provider talent pipeline.
Mentorship & Process Oversight
+ Provide training and onboarding for new provider recruiters and leaders to ensure adherence to best practices and organizational standards.
+ Conduct regular check-ins and case reviews with recruiter team members to support their growth and resolve challenges.
+ Facilitate consistent usage of the ATS (Workday), reporting dashboards, and candidate tracking methods.
Operational Excellence
+ Monitor performance metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline health, offer acceptance rates, etc.) and recommend enhancements to tools and processes.
+ Partner with HR Business Partners, Medical Staff Services, Credentialing, Marketing, and Onboarding to optimize the candidate-to-start process.
+ Lead team participation in recruitment events and ensure UHS is professionally and consistently represented at all external engagements.
Stakeholder Engagement
+ Act as a trusted Talent Advisor and connection of the HRBP to department chairs, service line leaders, and executives.
+ Prepare and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews and workforce planning meetings to align recruitment outcomes with system goals.
+ Drive initiatives that reflect the UHS Employer Value Proposition, showcasing how we provide more than a career—we offer a community.
Education & Experience
Minimum Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
+ 6–8 years of full-cycle provider recruitment experience, including at least 1–2 years of team leadership, mentorship, or project oversight.
+ Proven success in a healthcare system or academic medical environment managing complex and specialty-specific searches.
Preferred:
+ Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) or PHR/SHRM-CP certification.
+ Experience with Workday and proficiency in recruitment analytics and reporting.
