Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Finance Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Manager of Internal Controls & Governance (ICG).
This role will be reporting to the Director of Finance, Internal Controls & Governance and can work and reside in either the Plano, TX, or the Henderson, NV area.
The person in this role will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the TFSB Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) environment, risk management processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements, financial reporting requirements, and best practices. The Senior Manager of ICG is responsible for leading and setting strategy for the annual SOX and FDICIA compliance process as well as the successful tactical execution of the SOX and FDICIA Program and internal controls initiatives. In addition, seek ways to enhance the ICOFR program and elevate the Finance posture within the institution by championing and communicating strategic direction and future vision of the program.
This position is also responsible for championing strategy, design and facilitation of formal controls, and change management process for the Finance Department due to changes driven by business initiatives, regulatory and legal changes, remediation implementation, etc.
It will work with its team to develop short and long-term operational goals. Additionally, it will work with the teams to create effective plans for achieving operational and strategic goals. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding assets, ensuring integrity, and minimizing risks.
The individual in this role will manage the framework and standards of a continuous monitoring program to ensure the operating effectiveness of the Bank’s internal control environment. This includes:
+ Ensuring controls are tested periodically and results are reported to senior management
+ Ensuring risk assessments and effectiveness testing is aligned and testing/operating effectiveness results are timely and properly communicated
+ Communicating self-assessment testing with business unit teams in a timely manner,
+ Monitoring and reporting on risks and controls to executive risk committees and other forums, as required.
What you’ll be doing
**Manage the Internal Control Framework** :
+ Implement robust internal control framework, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure consistent adoption of control practices.
+ Aid to continually mature the Internal Controls framework as business activities and technologies evolve.
+ Manage the annual SOX and FDICIA business risk assessment and scoping processes.
+ Manage on-going SOX scoping (for TMC - Japan) communications and deliverables based on the Bank’s business growth. This will include coordination with external audit, affiliate entities, and Japan.
+ Identify opportunities for control rationalization or enhancements to the current programs based on a continually evolving organization.
+ Partner with SOX PMO teams at affiliate entities on shared service control scoping, assessments, and deficiencies where the Bank is reliant on their control environment to support TFSB’s products, applications, and personnel.
Risk Assessments and Reviews:
+ Manage multiple simultaneous Internal Control reviews (at the process level and program level) to identify potential areas of risk or non-compliance.
+ Evaluate the design as well as the effectiveness of Internal Controls (preventative, detective, and corrective), including segregation of duties, authorization processes, and reconciliations.
+ Non-compliance (deficiencies) are communicated to executive management, Internal & External Audit, and the Board of Directors - Audit Committee. Deficiencies that impact TFSB SOX are additionally communicated to TMC.
Deficiency Identification and Corrective Actions:
+ Collaborate with departmental executives, senior managers, and process owners to address control deficiencies against highly prescriptive timelines.
+ Ability to understand business needs to deliver constructive guidance on corrective action plans.
+ Calculate the potential impacts of a control deficiency (impact assessments).
+ Monitor and track remediation efforts to address audit findings, corrective action plans, and control weaknesses.
+ Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent application of SOX and FDICIA requirements
Personnel Management
+ Maintain expert knowledge around regulatory compliance as it pertains to bank governance, internal controls, and regulations applicable to the Finance department.
+ Monitor department policies against regulatory requirements as well as monitor internal procedure compliance with department policies and standards, enhancing and recommending potential remediation measures as necessary.

What you bring
+ Work collaboratively with team members
+ Four-year college degree (BA or BS)
+ 10+ years of relevant experience (in similar field and/or industry)
+ Prior experience in internal controls over financial reporting as well as business process control design and implementation
+ Meet regular performance expectations
+ Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance to support team and business objectives.
+ Exceptional communication skills with diverse audiences at all levels
+ Maintain expert-level knowledge around internal controls
+ Exceptional leadership, project-management and team-building skills to drive the completion of initiatives across different functions
+ Strong critical thinking and analysis skills
Added bonus if you have
+ Management level experience within an internal or external audit function
+ Prior experience with designing and implementing control and governance frameworks related to regulatory compliance
+ Prior experience with designing and implementing IT general controls (ITGC)
