    Who we’re looking for

     

    Toyota’s Facilities Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Sr. Engineer- Plant Operations.

     

    The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate maintenance building service activities and projects. Develop and coordinate schedules and safety documents with outside vendors as well as develop maintenance plans, operating standards and contingency plans for all phases of plant-wide assigned systems.

     

    Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the TMMWV (Toyota West Virginia) Facilities Engineering Department’s objective to provide strategic and functional support in all areas of Facility Maintenance.

     

    What you’ll be doing

     

    + Work with and effectively coordinate multiple Toyota department personnel and outside vendors in an industrial setting to achieve KPI’s

    + Lead problem solving groups that include members from production & support.

    + Lead project activity requiring management of internal & external resources.

    + Manage facility projects like, electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, HVAC, chilled water production, waste water treatment, and controls/instrumentation.

    + Manage local and capital projects (<$2M) from concept to completion.

    + Provide problem solving analysis and develop and implement effective countermeasures for problems.

    + Manage multiple projects from concept through implementation.

    + Problem identification and analysis skills and a strong sense of urgency. Analysis must be comprehensive and detailed.

    + Use FMDS way to develop strategies for KPI reflection to identify and correct gaps in standards.

    + Understand Facility core systems. Must understand and apply TPS principles for continuous improvement and elimination of waste. As performance continues to improve the complexity of problem solving must exponentially increase to keep pace.

    + Responsibility for tracking, controlling, and reporting budget while seeking to reduce costs.

    + Training other members for operation as needed while seeking multiple skill development through cross training

    + Providing technical direction to in-house and outsourced personnel

    + Work seamlessly with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, Admin, and peers in engineering.

    + Make presentations to Senior Management & EC team periodically.

     

    What you bring

     

    + Working knowledge of Electrical Power Management (Medium voltage power distribution, ARC flash calculations, Power metering)

    + Working knowledge of building/process support systems (Compressed Air, Chilled Water, Waste Water Treatment)

    + Demonstrated effective communication skills

    + Ability to work autonomously

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planner)

    + Ability to work up to 20% overtime and travel up to 10%.

     

    Added bonus if you have

     

    + Working knowledge of various facilities related systems: Power Distribution, Power Management, Building Management Systems, HVAC, and Buildings (including Construction) and Grounds

    + Professional Engineering License

    + 5 years of project management experience.

    + Experience with Toyota Business Practices.
