    An environmental services company is seeking a Technician to work on-site at a local academic client in Raleigh, NC. Under general supervision, the Technician will perform routine and frequent manual and heavy labor tasks to properly consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport, and/or dispose of hazardous waste. This role requires adherence to environmentally responsible and cost-effective practices and company policies, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently after receiving proper training.

    Responsibilities

    + Segregate and package materials for transport, ensuring the completion of required paperwork in accordance with regulations and customer policies.

    + Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials, following appropriate regulations and policies.

    + Adhere to Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis procedures as outlined in company policies.

    + Operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment, once properly trained, to assist in the movement of containers for storage, treatment, and loading/unloading of trailers.

    + Complete paperwork legibly, accurately, and promptly.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Knowledge of laboratory procedures and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

    + Understanding of chemical interactions and safe handling practices.

    + Ability to work in a laboratory environment comfortably.

    + Experience with hazardous waste management.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bioworks certification or an Associate of Science degree preferred.

    + Some exposure to laboratory settings is beneficial.

    Work Environment

    The position requires working on-site in Raleigh, NC during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. The Technician may need to travel for a one-week training. This is an exciting opportunity for entry-level candidates to enter the industry, with potential for promotion from within, extensive training, and certification opportunities.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $41600.00/yr.

     

    PTO Hourly pay $20/ hour with OT
