Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be working for a leader in industrial automation and control systems, committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to clients globally across various industries. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to drive production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role serves as a critical technical liaison between design engineering, production, quality, and maintenance, with a focus on optimizing workflows, tooling, equipment, and work instructions to support scalable and safe operations.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products, including layout design, material flow, and work cell configuration.
+ Analyze current production methods and identify areas for improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
+ Standardize processes and document procedures through clear work instructions, visual aids, and SOPs.
+ Provide hands-on technical support to production teams to resolve process bottlenecks, nonconformances, or equipment issues.
+ Design and validate jigs, fixtures, tools, and assembly aids to reduce cycle time and improve operator ergonomics.
+ Lead or support root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
+ Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introduction, equipment installation, line expansions, and process transfers.
+ Manage timelines, budgets, and documentation for assigned engineering projects.
+ Coordinate with outside vendors and suppliers for tooling, automation systems, and capital equipment.
+ Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, yield, throughput, and scrap.
+ Use data-driven analysis (e.g., time studies, capacity modeling) to make informed recommendations and validate results.
+ Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
+ Support audits, FAI/PPAP submissions, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
+ Implement mistake-proofing and statistical process control (SPC) where applicable.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
+ 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role in a discrete or industrial product environment.
+ Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and root cause analysis techniques.
+ Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), ERP systems, and production documentation tools.
+ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with panel assembly, metal fabrication, or electro-mechanical system builds.
+ Experience with automation, PLCs, or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
+ Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP, or Lean Practitioner.
Work Environment
This position involves working in an office environment with time spent on the factory floor collaborating with the manufacturing team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
