Job Description
The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in developing, testing, and implementing modern manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling into existing factories. This position focuses on adhering to product specifications and quality standards while collaborating with advanced manufacturing and controls engineers to create automated or semi-automated production systems. The role involves supporting the launch of new or revised products by utilizing advanced manufacturing methods, with an emphasis on quick change/high flexibility fixturing and custom-built automated production systems.
Responsibilities
+ Design, manufacture, and install components that meet specified requirements.
+ Analyze problems or deficiencies and develop effective solutions.
+ Conduct experiments and evaluations to innovate and improve product designs.
+ Create plans and designs using CAD technology.
+ Estimate budgets and time scopes for projects.
+ Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications for manufacturing and construction purposes.
+ Perform structural and thermal analyses to ensure the integrity and efficiency of mechanical systems.
+ Lead and participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and recommendations for improvement.
+ Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
+ Research automation techniques, test new systems for efficiency, and plan factory layouts to optimize production.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in manufacturing engineering and mechanical engineering principles.
+ Experience with manufacturing processes and process improvement.
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD software.
+ Experience in fixture design and automation.
+ Mechanical design expertise.
+ 5+ years of experience in an automated or semi-automated manufacturing environment, preferably in the firearms industry.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
+ Strong understanding of mechanical design best practices and software related to automated production systems.
+ Exceptional customer service skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and involves being part of an innovative Advanced Manufacturing team. The role includes working with modern technologies and processes to transform manufacturing practices. The position requires proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD technologies, as well as collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency. The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced setting and contribute to the development of cutting-edge manufacturing systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
